It's sad.....because people do look down on these "down and outs" but as granny says if they want to spend any money they get given on alcohol, so be it, if it's the only little bit of enjoyment they can get....let them have it !!....wish there was more we could do to help frown

However, the number is 0300 123 2041 if anybody wants to ring it on behalf of a rough sleeper, if you see one. Store it on your phone- may just save a life!

It's connected to the Whitechapel Centre, Rude.

I tried to give a homeless person a couple of quid, about 22 years ago thinking I was doing a good turn and he threw it back at me and mumbled no charity!!

Its all about empathy, experiance and conditioning.

For those of us who know where the next meal is coming from and (enjoy) a roof over our heads, it is so easy to judge a homeless person.

Maybe the homeless person views life differantly-still had his Pride, Sense of Dignity etc

Another question: do those that 'offer' seek comfort for themselves or their perception of what the others need?

Shame really.

If it's the the man I'm thinking of, (bearded with a walking stick), he's not homeless, he lives, or lived, in a care home on Penkett Rd. A non-recovering alcoholic.

A real shame things like this happen in our first world and that this man wouldn't, or felt he couldn't, find the help to get off the streets.
