Example use of the radios while driving and removing belts while car is in motion
And before anyone starts there just the same if not worse and trained to do so what a load of rubbish

Couple of points:
If you don't wear seatbelt then that is your own lookout, but clear evidence use of hand held mobiles results in many accidents etc - so if you get caught then tough. It always strikes me as hilarious that idiots in cars worth £10,000 and upwards don't have a hands free kit and most new cars have bluetooth...so dont use a hand held device.
Secondly - the police change their unmarked cars regularly - and if using a hand held mobile you would not be concentrating enough to identify them anyway

Last year I was flashed going through a red light. To keep my licence clean I opted to go on an awareness course. The instructor told us a tale of one driver who knocked a cyclist off his bike and unfortunately killed him. The interesting thing was the cyclist was the one who drove through the red light, but because the car driver was talking on a hand free kit he wasn't driving with due care and attention. The car driver was jailed! So I won't even use a hands free kit. If my phone rings when I'm driving I ignore it, and check it when I have pulled over AND switched the engine off.

I wish more people would pull over to use their mobiles; I still see people using them while driving, even going round roundabouts steering with one hand, talking on the phone. I'd flash my lights at them or use my horn - but they're distracted enough, without me adding to the problem. Some people must think they're immortal - or have super-powers... do they not realise the risk they're taking?
I ignore my mobile when driving, or pull in if it's safe to do so. I always use my seatbelt - feel very insecure without it, even just moving the car off the path onto the road to make space (that seems silly but I'd rather use it and not need it, than not use it and need it!)

I wish that the Police would also use their unmarked cars to stop people who fail to give way coming on the motorway and main rods from slip roads. They appear to think that coming from a slip road gives them right of way and its the vehicles on the main roads who should slow down or give way to them, arrogant sods.

I wish that they would patrol the M53 & clamp down on the middle lane drivers & idiots who pull out without indicating - normally BMW & Merc drivers who seem to think that they are exempted from using their indicators.
Rant over !

The motorways are the offices of CMPG & NWMPG, not "normal" traffic/RPU.
As for the clampdown - great! If you abide by the law, you have nothing to worry about - it's not like it's something that's just been brought in is it!?! The Police don't make the laws, they just enforce them. I still see so many people not wearing seatbelts and on their mobiles. I don't care if these people injure or kill themselves (apart from the fact it's my mates that have to clean up the mess), but I do care when it's innocent people that get caught up in the mess. Same with drink drivers & those who "joyride" (hate that term). If they want to kill themselves, crack on - just don't take innocent people with you!
Sometimes Police Officers give more than just speeding tickets!

They could make a fortune catching red light jumpers at the M53 roundabout at Clatterbridge. As for driving while using the phone, this is a good game: http://think.direct.gov.uk/drivingchallenge/index.html

Hate seeing other drivers using mobile when driving. As for the police use their radio I will point out that only certain ones can who are highly trained to do so. It's a bit like saying someone who knows how to drive but hasn't passed the test can drive to the same standard as those who have passed.
If I am joining a motorway I would NEVER stop at the end of the slip road, you are meant to build up speed and enter safely, also those already on the motorway should be aware they are likely to see cars trying to enter and if possible adjust speed slightly or change lanes if safe to allow cars to enter safely.
Motorways are that busy nowadays that I believe you should not be allowed on one the minute you pass the driving test, I feel that maybe 3 months getting use to traffic then you should have a 2 hour compulsory motorway lesson before you can use them, to many middle lane hoggers to many scared of entering middle lane to allow others joining and chudder along at 50mph-60mph.
