By any chance are you or anyone you know, about to rip out an old kitchen base unit please ? Ive got to extend a work surface in order to surface mount a fridge that OH cant bend down to see into any more! Its the bog standard old sort Im after, like the old Hygena /MFI ones that are 50cm wide and 86cm high . Only need the carcass , so with or without a door is fine. Thought these would be easy to pick up, but all of a sudden they are like hens teeth lol. Thanks.

If you just want something to take the weight of the extended surface you can get just supports e.g. B&Q have this Rothley Worktop Support L086XW White H870mm x 60mm .

Thanks for that Salmon --much appreciated. I may have to resort to something along those lines, but first plan is that an old base unit will double up as both a support, AND store some of the stuff Ive got in a wall unit above the new bit of surface , as that will have to be removed.
