2005 (05 plate) Peugeot 307 "SE" (high spec. model)
5 door in China Blue

This is the 2.0L 90 BHP model (DW10TD), which means it does NOT have a diesel particulate filter or dual mass flywheel and the expensive bills these carry!

1 previous owner (City Electrical Factors, who maintained it at Robins & Day Peugeot, Coventry)
ABS
All round disc brakes
Climate control & air conditioning
Alloys with locking wheel studs
Black & silver interior trim
Trip computer (shows range in tank, MPG and other details)
Drivers, passenger and side airbags
Front armrests
Fully adjustable front seats (raise / lower as well as slide forward / backwards)
Pull down centre armrest in rear
Steering wheel reach and rake adjustment (i.e. wheel pulls towards or away from you as well as up and down)
Steering wheel audio controls
Automatic rain-sensing wipers
Automatic dimming rear view mirror
All round electric windows (rear windows can be turned off in front)
Passenger airbag deactivation feature
K&N cleanable panel air filter
Genuine Peugeot 307 branded front rubber floor mats
Remote central locking
Electronic folding mirrors
Immobiliser
Two keys
Interior light in front and rear
Map lights
Mirror lights on sun visors
Sunglasses storage area
Under-seat storage
Climate controlled glove box (seriously!)
Drivers manual wallet - comprising all manuals and booklets, service history, receipts etc.
Excellent, clean, smoke free condition inside

Please note that the currently fitted Sony BT2800 blue tooth stereo is not included with the sale.
I will re-fit the original radio and Blaupunkt 5 CD unit unless the buyer would like to arrange a deal after purchase.

Lots of genuine Peugeot service history and information.

I purchased this car in 2011 with 82000 miles on the clock. I'd previously owned a 51 plate diesel 307 that had lasted me two years and I'd clocked up over 50,000 miles in that time with it rarely missing a beat (new tyres, brakes and general maintenance). I traded it for a 407 which was a lovely luxurious car, but it was sadly too big for my apartment parking space and was forever getting "dinged" by my wonderful neighbours!

This car has been looked after regardless of cost, regularly serviced (I do an oil and filter change every 6000 miles, not 10,000 or 12,000 as per usual standards) and MOTed at a good, reliable local garage (no advisories when tested in March). My daughter lives over in Rochdale so it is imperative that I have a reliable car to pick her up and take her home, particularly as much of that journey is motorway.

I'm a former mechanical engineer, so I like to keep my hand in by performing routine preventative maintenance on the car whenever I have a free weekend and the weather is good - doing jobs like stripping down and cleaning the brakes and ABS sensors (a common fault on 307s around 90,000 miles is an ABS fault caused by dirty ABS sensors on the back wheel), and cleaning and protecting all electrical components with quality electrical contact cleaner.

I've owned Peugeots for many years and feel that they have an undeserved reputation for poor quality and electrical issues. My experience has shown that this is usually down to poor maintenance from the current or previous owners. Peugeot repairs are usually cheap and simple, once you know where the problem lies (in my experience almost always a dirty earth strap which is hidden under the battery tray, or a failure to keep the water channels around the bonnet clear).

This led me to become a part-time freelance Peugeot diagnostics specialist, where I offer my services across Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire, West Lancs. and Flintshire. I'm also a regular contributor to the "peugeotforums" website, so you can always find me around and supporting Peugeots.

Thankfully this is not the case with this car, both the previous owner and myself have kept up rigorous servicing and maintenance. This can be seen by me putting in a new clutch, I could have easily sold the car and passed the problem onto the next owner, but I'm not like that, and I'd like to further support the car and new owner by offering free professional diagnostics for the next owner for as long as they own it and I own the Peugeot diagnostic equipment. A diagnostic at a Peugeot dealer will cost in the region of £80+VAT!

Should there be any problems with the car, and I'm almost certain there won't be, I will perform a full diagnostic, give a detailed report of any issues, and advise on the quickest, cheapest and best way to resolve it.

Since I've owned the car I've had the following work done, all can be backed up with receipts and guarantees where relevant:

82000 27/10/11 Fuel filter, pollen filter, oil change
83000 01/11/12 K&N washable panel filter (original paper filter also present)
84000 22/11/11 Exide battery & glow plugs (ready for improved cold starting in winter)
85000 05/01/12 Rear exhaust silencer
87000 05/04/12 Oil Change (did a little early before a holiday to Devon)
88120 26/05/12 New clutch and clutch fork
90400 21/06/12 Front left and right top engine mounts
91000 07/07/12 Fuel Filter (10,000 mile replacement prior to sale)
91100 14/07/12 Powerflex performance bottom engine mount (much better than standard)

Various receipts from Peugeot dealers for plastic connectors, bulbs etc.

The interior is in very good condition with no wear or damage to the upholstery and the previous owners being non-smokers. Boot is clean and tidy with no nasty stains on the carpet. Spare wheel and tools are also good.

The exterior is also in a very good condition, with just the odd scratch (one on bonnet, some on nearside sill). These are all pictured below, but I aim to try and get these sorted shortly.

Fuel consumption is nothing short of outstanding. I only use Shell diesel and also augment it with MILLERS ECOMAX diesel additive. It ensures a clean burning fuel system and improves MPG. I easily get 600 miles out of a 50 litre tank, and got over 700 during a recent trip to Devon.

There are a couple of bad points, but as it is a 7 year old car with 90,000 on the clock, this is hardly surprising:

There is a small crack in the rear offside light cluster, but this has been patched up with clear silicone. A replacement rear cluster will set you back a tenner if you decide to replace it. It didn't cause an issue for the MOT.

The front carpets are also starting to show a little sign of wear. There is a common fault with Peugeot 307s in that the front carpet seems to shrink with age and they all seem to go at the same place by the door sills. I've reduced the wear by putting tape over the wear points.

The front nearside wheel arch liner was also looking a bit tatty, so I've ordered a replacement and will also be fitting that shortly.

If you follow my service intervals, an oil change will be due at 93,000. Otherwise wait until 97,000 miles.

The car is HPI clear and has had no accidents during my ownership, and was purchased with cash. However, the buyer is welcome to have a check made.

The car in located in Oxton. Buyer is welcome to come and look any time. I work near Chester so am happy to arrange a viewing around that area after 4pm.
