Is it unusual to fine a bat in the house, this has happened twice now within a month, first time we found a bat in my son's bedroom, now last night found one in our bedroom. Managed to catch both & release them in the garden. The windows are closed so I can only persume they/it are getting in via the fireplace (open flue).

I put the same question on the Merseyside & North West Bat page on facebook, but no replies.

Do you think it's something to do with the warm weather, or just a nutty Bat. Anyone out there experienced anything similar?

They are protected and require an authorised person to sort it out, so please be very careful as I believe the fine is more than just getting caught for speeding or murder, speak to the council and good luck.

Don't be surprised if they evict you so that the bats can live in peace. Bats are one thing they go absolutely nutty over and there have been some crazy decisions on their behalf over the years, well them an newts. Good luck.

Try the Ranger at Tam O Shanter farm, he runs the bat walks he is very knowledgeable and might be able to offer some good advice.

Thanks for all the comments folks, even the funny ones. Got in touch with a local Bat expert, going to see if it's a loner or there is a nest somewhere in the vicinity.
