Can anybody tell me how I get rid of nettles I pull them up an dig my garden over and have even tried covering it with tarpolin but they still come back and now they are probably about 3ft tall please help.

nettles and weeds are practically impossible to get rid of , they return straight away, i have never found a permanent solution weed killers dont kill em for good

Don't forget that one person's weed is another's flower.You have to get the whole thing out including the roots and even then weeds will come back. If you keep at them with a hoe at least once a week they will die off,not easy and of course butterflies love nettles so at least you can get a bit of pleasure from nettles.

Just a thought,but you don't seem to see Dock leaves anymore,whenever you used to get stung by nettles there were always Dock leaves around to rub on the sting to ease the pain.Something else to lie awake worrying about at night.
