Thank you...I will. Oldfield Dr does ring a bell. I'm pretty sure there must be some photos out there. Cricketer Ian Botham was born there, if I'm not mistaken. A few other famous people as well.

Does anyone have any photos of the Maternity Home approx late 60's. My first son was born there. Softshoes, it seems to be recorded as Heswall Maternity Hospital (not home) which might help with your search a bit more. Definitely Oldfield Dr. not the sanatorium on Telegraph Road.

Thanks granny, just found this on the Heswall Medical Center site.
In the 1960’s a lot of new homes were built in Pensby and consequently there was a considerable increase in the need for Obstetrics and Paediatrics. The Practice, along with other local practices, was fortunate in having the Heswall Maternity Home, “Oldfield”, in which to book and attend patients in labour; home confinements were also undertaken as required.

I googled Heswal Maternity Hospital and found a site that suggests the sanatarium changed role at one point. Googling the sanatarium I found this page: http://www.oldwirral.com/heswall_sanatorium.html
