CRT means Cathode Ray Tube. Means it is a pre plasma or LCD type.

Flat screen refers to both flat panel TVs and flat faced CRT TVs.

A flat face was a common feature on many of the later, larger screened CRTs, and was usually marketed as being a flat screen.

The term flat panel is only ever used to refer to plasma and LCD TVs.

As more time passes, the more that people seem to synonymise flat screen with just flat panel.
