I have a Philips Whirlpool Compact Combi that needs repairing. It's not new and when I bought it I had to lay it down on it's side in the smallish van I collected it in. Now only a light comes on inside when switched on and it doesn't cool or freeze. Can anyone suggest where it can be fixed and an apprximate price if it needs regassing? Otherwise it's a tip job

Don't some bumf sheets on these things say to leave it standing for at least 24hrs after being tilted? Supposed to get rid of any "air" locks in the system (??) Maybe give the thermostat housing (behind the temp.knob) a sharp rap. Can wake up dicky contacts! If that doesn't work, you're using the wrong size hammer.
