Does anyone have any pictures or information on this school that was located in wellington road, bebington? It was demolished when it went bust in about 1993-4 and a new housing estate built on it. Any info or pictures etc would be grately appreciated as I was a pupil their and it was such a lovely little place. Unfortunatley I have no pictures to back up my happy memories.

The father of an old friend of mine founded that school and was headmaster for many years, I think I'm right in saying he opened it in the fifties and was probably involved until the seventies. His name was Mr J Fogg. If my memory serves me right, I think Mr Fogg was a POW at the hands of the Japs. The school playing fields were on the Clatterbridge to Williston road and fell into the hands of Tranmere Rovers as a training ground, not sure if that was a temporary arrangement or Tranmere purchased them.

That is completely correct what you have written. I am in my 30's so never met Mr Fogg but the whole 'theme' of the school was based around him. This old friend of yours, do you still keep in contact with him- Or, does he have some way in which I could contact him. I am basically looking for some evidence of the schools existence in order to have something to show to my little lad when he gets older. Any help would be appreciated. I don't expect you to break your neck trying to find out though LOL. I would think your old friend may find it interesting that someone wants to keep his fathers work alive and remembered.

Unfortunately I haven't seen or heard from him for about ten years, he was more of a friend on a business footing. If I do come across him, I'll keep you in mind.

I have tried this before, but nobody seems to remember this school- closed down in 1993 and subsequently knocked down and a new housing estate built- wellington road bebington- I went there and all I can say is that it was a little family... good times.

I remember it chopper...got my first caning in high school there from the head, Foggy. I only spent my first year there back in 69/70. I had to catch the train from Ince. I also got thrown out of the zoo club for flushing the guppies down the drain when i was changing the water!! There is a website somewhere.

Is this Mr Jones the woodwork teacher? When I was there he also taught geography and history. The school closed in the Summer of 1995.

Green blazers - some of the kids were posh and were invited to 'get stuck in' by their rugby master (i.e. try to punch and kick opposition players - we never lost to them....
Bankers fairly apt for the teachers - some of the kids not much better !

Late reply ... like nearly 7 years. Yes he was the woodwork teacher. Chippy. So close to smacking him in the mouth. I think there might be a reunion this year.
