Woman airlifted to hospital after heart attack near Merseyside beach

A helicopter rescued a woman who suffered a heart attack while walking near a Merseyside beach. The patient was walking on Bay View Drive in Wallasey when she collapsed on New Year's Eve. The North West Ambulance Service were called at around 3pm but paramedics deemed the 58-year-old's condition serious enough to call in an aerial evacuation. It is believed the woman was taken by air ambulance to the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital at Broad Green for specialist treatment.
