Or better yet - why not go to the British Library in North London where they keep
all the original , paper copies of The Tranmere Telegraph & Argos or the
Tranmere - later to become the Wirral Gazette. I kid you not !!
These fantastic papers were printed for years thoughout the late 1800,s & early
1900,s at the works of E.A. Murray on New Chester Road .

As Uptoncx said, membership of Wirral Libraries gives free home access to the British Library 19th century newspaper collection.
To get free home access to the British Library collection of 18th century newspapers and a few 17th century ones (together called the 'Burney' collection) join Lancashire Libraries here. Anyone resident in the UK can join.
Once you have got a membership number, access the newspapers via the Lancashire Libraries OnRL (Online Reference Library) page or take this shortcut - here

God help us,
Come yourself,
Don't send Jesus,
This is no place for children.

Membership of Liverpool Libraries also gives you online access to the British Library 19th Century Newspapers, and also free access to The Times Online Archive.
