Hi guys the disc drive on my pc is playing up if i put in a pre recorded disc it runs ok but if i try to copy files to a disc it say no disc inserted, i have bought two diferent makes of discs to see if the ones i had were faulty but no joy i have used it before with no problems but have not used it for a couple of months until now and found this problem any ideas or do i need to take it in to be looked at thanks

Is it a DVD writer? The only reason I ask is early (and maybe some more recent) DVD writers were usually either DVD+ or DVD-, two different types of discs each wont work in the other types burner.
What discs are you trying? CD's, DVD's, DVD-DL's, etc.

Its dvd and i am using dvd+rw discs

sussed it all my old discs that have worked are dvd-rw the ones i have bought are + rw whwt a numpty !!!!!!!!! any body want 20 dvd+rw discs

Rather than throw your discs away I have an old DVD +/- you can have if you want it and use both.

You just swap the drives over, or if you can get your machine to me I'll do it, it only takes a couple of minutes.
Most drives can use both discs.
