I am hopefully going to be taking a photography course soon, but I want a camera and equipment before I go in for it. Can anyone reccommend where I can get a professional photography camera from...and preferably as cheap as possible. Thanx you

Depends on your price range, but Ebay is the place to go for second hand cameras. You don't want to be buying a new camera, waste of cash.

By "pro" do you mean SLR/ dSLR? Whilst I'm a Pentax fanboy, one of the cheapest dSLRs available is the Sony A230. Although, I suggest you read several reviews of any camera before buying. Even if you don't intend to buy from them, I'd strongly recommend dropping into Jessops or Jacobs in Liverpool, so that you try one in your hand. Get a feel for the layout of the buttons. Make sure it's not too big or too small. Etc. Be aware with dSLR, and the newer MILC "bridge" cameras, that once you start investing in a lens system, to change away from that system can be expensive. If the course does not require the use of a digital camera you will probably learn much more about aperture, ISO etc by getting a film SLR (fSLR?) to begin with. If you go down this route the Pentax K1000 or MX are ideal choices.

Suggest you don't read any reviews in the camera magazines otherwise a: you will never buy a camera, because you will end up utterly confused or b: you end up with this months camera the magazines are pushing, look around and decide yourself , most people seem to say get a decent lens on the camera you decide on, after saving up I bought a new DSLR camera after going round and round and my missus getting cheesed off, it was the one I was going to buy in the first place, good luck as cameras a getting very expensive.
