My gf's just bought a '98 106 as her first car. Her birthday's a week on monday and i wanna sort out her ice for it. I need to know, what size are the standard speakers? It's a "Zest 2" if it makes any difference.
Cheers.

the front ones are hard work to go for mate because the backs of them have to be super slim due to there not being much space

a had a mate who put 400 pound focals in the front of his, think he had to have about 2" of spacer behind the speaker.spacer rings are easily available from ICE shops, his 106 never had rear speakers as standard,it was a GTI. He had those fronts and a 700 pound sub/amp combo tho and...........it hurt

Thanks lads, but still need to know the size? I can get some shallow basket ones if there's not much room behind them.

Looking at the pioneer shallow basket ones, hopefully they'll fit ok but if not i can get some spacers. Cheers for all the replies, any advance on 13.5cm? Gary if you could get the size of your rear speakers for me that'd be great, from what i remember there's space for them in this but none there.

jimbo i put 6x9's on my parcel shelf, the 106 comes with all the wires you need just doesnt have the speakers fitted, i just putt he 6x9 wires upto where the wires where behind the rear armrests.
I just put normal speakers in the front think gary is right with 13.5.
any make will fit i had plenty of room behind to fit speakers didnt need shallow basket ones.
