In error Motor Legal Protection has been left on my re-newed Car Insurance Policy. It is optional, and is £25.99.
Before I phone up to amend the Policy, can any Wiki member let me know if it is wise to pay this, as I am not sure of the benefit if I had to make an insurance Claim. Many thanks.

In my experience its not worth paying, when I have been involved in accidents the supplied service was less than minimal.
Depends what it covers, if its just "uninsured losses" then there is no point in paying it, you can get your own solicitor at no cost to you who will probably do a much better job.

£25.99 seems quite dear for motor legal protection. I normally pay around £15, I'd say it's worth taking it out, then there is no running round with solicitors the insurance company just sort everything for you. Just my view but I like an easy life lol. I've had two non fault claims and everything was sorted out without me doing anything

Wiggi - did you get any uninsured losses reimbursed? I've had at least 3 non-faults and never received a penny, in two cases I wasn't even given the opportunity to list them.

Do you mean the like of personal injuries and loss of earnings if so yes, both times they got a personal injury claim for me and reimburse any loss of earnings.

Ah, that's my mistake - I didn't go for personal injury, just identifiable costs.

Not worth it, it's sold as part of a policy and you can cancel it, just like that free for 3 months life insurance thing.
