Gap for Ford Focus is usually about 1.3mm, to me the gap does look excessive, the arm looks bent and the electrode looks as if it has burnt, possibly due to the excessive gap.

Gap still should be 1.3 smile

Ford did try change their rec to 1.0mm to handle the idling on the zetec engine, but most stick with the 1.3, if yours are much bigger than that you might want to have a look at some (pre-gapped) new ones.

Dont know they were in when I bought the car. The gap looks to be 3-4 mil.

I remember when the gap had to be set to 0.025" - Adam was a lad at the time!
