The family of 58-year-old Jane Bernadette Dodd reported her missing to the police two days ago on March 29 but extensive enquiries have so far failed to trace her.
Jane, who is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall and slim with blond, shoulder-length straight hair and blue eyes, was last seen leaving her home in Cleveland Street, Birkenhead, at around 8.30am on March 22.
It is believed that she may have been seen in New Chester Road walking towards Bromborough and at a post office on Old Chester Road later that morning.
Jane has not been seen since and the police and her family are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
She is known to frequent Leasowe, New Brighton and Blackpool as well as Birkenhead and police are appealing for the public to get in touch if someone thinks they have seen a woman who could be Jane.
On the day she was last seen by family, she was wearing a long black coat with a hooded collar.
