This is now surplus to requirement and has never been plugged in it has just sat in the corner of the office as my I.T. guy said it was vital that I had one and he never fitted it.

I'm looking to get around the £150 for this but i'm open to offers.

Thanks

Tom

Powers your electrical equipment, should yor mains electric fail - just like a big batter essentially, but kicks in the second the power line dips to ensure no outage/power downs.

Handy for mission critical and enterprise needs, whereby downtime translates into lost productivity or money etc. Can also be handy for home users with bad power lines or those who simply want to assure they always have power.

Generally most people dont need them. Some people think of a laptop batteras an equivalent - but a dedicated UPS is far more intelligent and can power numerous devices, not just a laptop etc...

They often also protect devices from eletrical damage, by carefully regulating an conditioning the power supply before it gets to the device.

APC is just about the best name in the business, my primary and secondary EU locations both use APC hardware for various different things (all to do with power).

APC 750 watt, I paid last week £5 for one at Ellesmere port tat market and it has good batteries, if it hasn't been used then the lead acid batteries will be broked as the batt plug is in and will be discharging, if you went to Maplin for a battery they are £32.00peach ouch!, about £8 to £16 on Ebay.
As Matt says usually used on servers to allow a safe shutdown if you use the Powerchute software,I also have a 330watt French Belkin UPS £2.00p from the same source, my real use is just for multi mains sockets,I do have two more without batteries but I will wait for Colwyn Bay radio rally to source them, sad innit. laugh
