Birkenhead Joint line - West Kirby - Hooton.
http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/w/west_kirby/index.shtml The trackbed, now forms part of the Wirral way, you can see evidence of the stations along the line, at the likes of Thurstaston and Caldy.

Yes, it used to go onto Thurstatson/ Hadlow Road. The line shut down in the sixties Beeching cuts. Another massive mistake for Wirrals rapid transport system

Those two photos only show the platform that served the line that is now the Wirral way. The currant station was also there at the same time along with a marshalling yard. The platform photographed above is circled in red on this photo that I pinched somewhere off here a while ago.
