Driver seriously injured in Chester High Road crash

A 51-year-old woman was taken to hospital following a two-car smash this morning.

The incident, which involved a red Citreon Saxo and a green Toyota, happened at around 7.50am on the corner of Chester High Road and Liverpool Road, Neston.

The driver of the Citroen is from the Wallasey area and police say is being treated for serious head injuries at Arrowe Park Hospital.

The A540 was closed northbound but re-opened just before 11am.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000.

I guess there will be more money spent on new signs along the stretch of the top chester road now stating how many crashes there have been plus1.

Hope both parties are ok though.
