Maggie did wide-scale decimation of industry - it takes much more than 13 years to build up large industries.
She annoyingly didn't even keep her options open - full scale complete massacre. That will have many years of negative impact.
As shown in the first post, the previous government did very well at keeping the debt VERY low compared to other nations, this would have had a good impact for many years to come but we got a new government which will destroy us yet again.

i think we are well destroyed already hardly any industry left
i see we recently we have sold dover port to the french,bad state of affairs

Can someone put all this into laymens terms
Not being an economist I can't understand all this debt business
I do know if you owe the banks and building societies there is no change in having to pay back loans on mortgages, visa cards and any loans to the public - all of which still earn interest as usual
So I am asking who has all the money that has been lost by the banks bad investments - the money must be somewhere ( or has it just disappeared as if it never existed)
When a country borrows fom the IMF is it not your own money that you are borrowing from
Who is this country in debt to? (China or the arabs)

you'll need Madoff to enlighten you on that one. The money just goes round in one big circle until somebody ends up with it all, I suppose Monopoly has got it about right but Chaytor won't get £200 for going direct to jail.

I believe it is possible for the whole world to be in debt financially - but how do you predict the assets of a country, especially when you are "selling" intelligence/knowledge/labour which is where money can be created out of nowhere.

Who are we in debt to then. any suggestions Illuminatii? Extra-terrestials? A hidden race within the earth?
