Wirral teenager Olivia Rae Clee-Barnett believed to be latest swine flu victim

A MERSEYSIDE teenager is believed to be the latest victim of swine flu.
[Linked Image]
Olivia Rae Clee-Barnett, 17, from Wirral, died in the early hours of Sunday January 2.

She was the sixth person from Merseyside to lose her fight against the illness.

Shocked friends set up an internet Facebook page to remember Olivia, who attended Wallasey School’s sixth form.

Her family were too devastated to speak last night.

But headteacher Phil Duffy paid tribute to Olivia, describing her as a “very able student”.

He said: “We are devastated by the news about Olivia, whoŠwas a very friendly, popular and positive member of our school.

“She was a very able student with a particular passion for music and theatre.

“We feel this loss deeply and are in close contact with Olivia’s family to support themŠin whatever wayŠwe can.”

He said staff and students affected by the loss will be offered bereavement counselling, adding: “Our hearts go out to Olivia’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Olivia was part of a cast from the school involved in a theatre production of Grease which brought them national TV stardom in 2009.

My brother in law has just come home from Arrowe Park after being in the three nights with Swine Flu. He was in an isolation ward and nurses told him when he left they weren't sure if he would make it. I can't believe how quick this flu is killing people, even those who have no underlying conditions.

Deepest sympathies for the family, this is a sad loss of young life.

That's a bit hard & flippent if you don't mind me saying.

My father in law is currently in Arrowe Park with Pneumonia and possible swine flu, and all I can say is the Doctors & Nurses are doing as great a job as possible - dont't knock it, you might need the hospital one day yourself frown

How the hell can we let this happen in this day and age, this is like turn of the 19th century stuff, where are all the vaccinations people were suppose to be getting, Is it more money saving tactics?, is it, not enough people have died to justify it, I wonder what the justifiable death figures are before they do inoculate the people of the country.

God help us,
Come yourself,
Don't send Jesus,
This is no place for children.

My mate collapsed Boxing day and rushed to Arrowe Park with Swine Flu. He cant breath unaided, he has a heart prob and breathing probs anyhow. They had to knock him out and hes been like that since.
His sister is a nurse in London and she has taken time off work to come and tend him in hospital as he has no close family. Hes in isolation, wish i could visit!

bert the vaccinations where in stock in october and letters sent to people who where at risk, but less then 5% of them got it, then the government said it was ok to give to pregnant mums, so the back log went on them, I'm with you everyone should get it like the TB Jab, but there are always people who say i'm not having no jab, I've seen people lost limbs cos they won't do jabs it's sad.
