Thanks to the t0ssers who decided to use my car as a trampoline on Saturday night on Rake Lane in Liscard.

The roof has caved in and my sunroof is leaking rainwater!

Not happy at all.

Anyone know if there is CCTV on Rake Lane near the Nags pub?

Cheers

Possbily on the front of the appliance centre, not 100% though. Sorry to hear that, one day the government will heed my advise and simply stop the sale of alcohol, 99% of the countries problems would disappear in a flash.

Some people are absolute ....
This happened to my first car when parked on my mums driveway!

Dan. Although I agree alcohol fueled bums probably are to blame. I don't think banning alcohol is fair on people who enjoy it responsibly. I think stricter laws and public hangings would be a better deterrent.

Ever so slightly knee-jerk.

Excessive alcohol consumption causes crime and disorder.
Lets ban alcohol. 99% of problems disappear.

Excessive food consumption causes obesity.
Should we ban all food aswell? I can pretty much guarantee 100% of problems would disappear that way.

Drawing example to obesity is hardly a comparison, as people don't go out, eat themselves silly and then get involved in petty crime - eating generally doesn't alter your state of mind sufficiently to be open to the suggestion of causing havoc. Whereas a minority do go out, drink themselves silly and get involved in petty crime, due to peer pressure and the lack of reasoning associated with excess consumption of alcohol. Of course its not always the cause, but watch any number of late night "Street Crime" type programs and then tell me that alcohol ISN'T the main contributing factor.

However, point taken, it is a knee-jerk reaction. I've lost family to alcohol, so its a pet hate of mine and a rather sore subject. If anyone has taken offense then I appologise...

Im sorry for your loss and if my comments were insensitive I apologise.

Whilst I understand where you are coming from linking crime to alcohol I dont think any kind of a ban would have any effect. These people will simply move on to the next drug of choice.

I truly do not believe that alcohol causes as much crime as people think. IMHO alcohol is used as an excuse by these people who have a criminal nature before the drink. Maybe the drink gives them the guts to do it, but they will have wanted to do it before hand.

While my comparison isnt sensible in the slightest it was simply to highlight the point that banning something because people do silly things with it might get rid of the problem, but would be a huge over-reaction, just like banning food to stop obesity would be a huge over-reaction.

No appology necessary (but much appreciated) - I have a serious chip on my shoulder about alcohol and I know that its my own issue, I am myself also a former alcoholic as a result of being bought up by a parent so inclined, only when I was old enough to see the damage I was doing to myself and my friends did I stop drinking. So fear not, its my fault jumping into this thread assuming it was alcohol related in the first place, the reality is as you say - it could easily be someone criminal minded, and stone-cold-sober.

Whoever it was, hopefully someone has CCTV to pinpoint them. Depending how far up or down the road the car was parked it might also be worth an ask at Howells DIY?

The laws are already in place to prevent this, just should be enforced more, public drunkenness seems to have become acceptable at a cost to society as a whole .....

In England and Wales, there are a number of offences dealing with intoxication.

In a public place, it is an offence to be:
"drunk", "drunk and incapable" or "drunk and disorderly"

It is also an offence to be drunk:
whilst boarding, or whilst on board, an aircraft,
whilst in charge of a child under 7 years old,
whilst travelling to a "designated sporting event" (professional football matches) on public transport or a vehicle with eight seats or more.

Absolutely summer, there in lay another problem entirely - the drug issues... It suppose as others have pointed out in this thread (which has been somewhat hijacked, sorry!) its the penalties and punishment of these crimes that is the real big issue - there is clearly no true deterent against this kind of behavior.
