...The cigarettes will now be recycled to provide power for the National Grid.
At last!!!! A new solution to the energy crisis! Never mind coal, oil, nuclear power - why didn't anyone think of using cigarettes to fuel our powerstations, before? Its a win-win! Generate electricity AND save millions on healthcare into the bargain! Brilliant!

If the gov wanted to stop tobacco/cigs smugglingwhy don't they get the tobacco companies to sell the goods abroad at a price which is only a couple of pounds cheaper than what we have to pay in the shops - then they can get more taxes from the companies and there wouldn't be any smuggling if there was no profit to the smugglers. Personnally I would like to see all confiscated goods by Customs etc resold maybe back to the original sellers (instead of burning them?) and any monies then gained being used for something useful.
Wonder how many millions of £s get burnt each year
