Hi folks,Ihave got a Roberts DAB radio,Instead of the normal power lead this has got an inline transformer which becomes slightly warm during use. My question is,is it safe to leave it switched on at the mains when not in use?(the socket not being very handy). Thanks.

Most in-line transformers (presume the type that look like a chunky 13a plugtop) get warm. "Warm" as in just decernable - not "Jeez - that's hot".
Some transformers use a small amount of current even when the "appliance" is disconnected. Just checked the transformer/plugtop for a rechargeable torch I use, meter says it's drawing 15w with torch not connected.
A separate doorbell transformer I have has been on 24/7 for 26 years now - stone cold !

Sorry. Got that wrong. It's drawing 15w on load, 12w off load.

Should be, they have a thermal fuse built in, if temperature goes above a certain point it switches itself off - permanently.
