Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 has been repealed. This now limits the police to do stop and search ONLY when there is reasonable suspicion.
This act was abused to stop photographers going about the routine business in particular to avoid pictures being taken of police by effectively saying it was a terrorist activity to do so.
The act was already appealed in the English Courts unsuccessfully but the European Court of Human Rights ruled against it saying it was ill-defined and too broad.
It was suspended as of midnight lastnight.
Other acts may still cover vehicle stop and search.

I was taking pictures 2 years ago of the Fort in New Brighton and was stopped by the Fuzz. I pointed out to them that as a Catholic white guy it is unlikely I am a member of Al Jihad.
As he walked away I put a muslim La'nah curse on the infidel.
