Got back late last night from a fantastic weekend at Brands Hatch!
Arrived Friday evening to some glorious weather - high 20's and shorts and t-shirt weather even past midnight!
Saturday looked to be another hot day, with the sun beating down!
Qualified 14th out of 17, which I was quite happy with considering the rest of the field were using slick tyres and I was on Toyo 888s.
Saturday night was another warm one, but at about midnight we had a massive storm which went on for about 2 1/2 hours with some really heavy rain, and over head thunder and lightening.
Come the first race on Sunday, the sky was pretty clear, but it was still very muggy. We lined up on the grid, lights went green, and the pole sitter made a mess of getting the car off the grid and what followed was carnage!

...some of the cars involved...
...and my old Civic
One the restart, everyone got away pretty cleanly, and I got in to a race with a nippy XR2 - 1.6 Duratec on TBs with 210bhp and 720kgs! Managed to hold him off for a bit until my tyres went off, and had a bit of a "rub" going in to the hairpin

2nd race saw the 2 E30 BMWs fail to get away, but I managed a good start. Things settled down and I got in to the best race Ive ever had! One of the BMWs caught, and passed me, but I caught a Mk1 Escort, and my mate in his Civic who was running slicks (Im was on Toyo 888s) and even had a few looks up the inside before backing off. I also managed to hold off the other E30 M3 who was breathing down my neck all race, and got along side a few times!
