Yeah we're a bit worried about the foraging as no-one booked on yet but the guy who's leading the walks is really great and will be bringing along samples of things that can be cooked from foraging trips.

Who knows - we could find the next Bear Grylis or Ray Mears?

The evening projects in each area involve a mobile allotment that will be planted up over the course of the week (same team as the forager) and then a cycle powered cinema screening.
Hoping it will be a really good evening in each place.

Low frown - we'll be out in those areas leafleting each morning and it's all in a newspaper that was delivered to some 20K houses this week but still really low, which is a shame.

Think I've been given foraging duties tomorrow instead of history but there's nettle wine to be sampled at least smile

It's low because of the need to book - id be interested (I mean I only live down the road from the Tranmere walk), but I aint into giving my details out to any random stranger etc...

Sorry, but the booking idea seems pointless. If numbers are low, then remove the obstacles.

20k leaflets? Ive not had one, you sure they are being delivered?

20K newspapers, they should have all been delivered Friday.

I know all Birkenhead and Seacombe HMR areas got them as I've had lots of feedback but Tranmere was on the list, we gave the delivery guy a map with the NRC on the centre and asked for a mile radius all around to be delivered. I'm glad you told me though as we do need to know if local people didn't receive them.

I wondered about the need to book too, it wasn't my idea, but the history guys wanted to know numbers so they wouldn't have too many (wishful thinking) so we just did a booking system for all.
However -

If you want to just turn up, it won't be a problem at all.

Thanks to you all for coming along, Giulia said it was really great too. Foraging was fab - tasted thistle and dandelion galore and learnt loads - most of the plants he was talking about are available en-masse at the butterfly park, might try and arrange a foraging day there now. At the end of the walk he put all the leaves we found with some garlic mustard leaves and wild rocket from Birkenhead Park and made a gorgeous salad that we had with bread rolls and tasted nettle wine(not for me that) but overall really good walk.
The event tonight went really well too, everyone in Tranmere got into the spirit of it and cycled for us, the smoothie maker bike went down a storm too.
Loads more going on all week, feel free to come along smile

We might start a little bit later tomorrow, just to get the dark night for the film so you'll still have time for a Burger - they were massive burgers tonight, all the local kids could only manage a half of one!

Hmmm supposedly on the side of St Johns Church, Central Park, Liscard. However work are doing a reccy tomorrow, in case it's not suitable - it'll be around there somewhere if not, we have a screen we can use if we cant do the side of a building.
