hi ,
This is for all the people who have car insurance and thinkin about buyin car insurance.
In the past few month theres a new legislation goin through court regardin car insurance, the reason for this is because insurance companys think there a law upon them selfs.
The legislation is to stop insurance companys ripping customers off. In the past the companys have used the catch 22 to stop paying out on ligitemate claims for there own benifit! This catch is they reserve there right not to pay if they 'think' 1 of the claim'ents havent discosed the true version of events, even if uve 'told' the truth...
They dont pay on either claim and expect u to take the decisson.
The courts have finally reconized these dick turpin style moves and trying to stop them happening.
The 2 biggest culprits doing this is CHURCHILL, 0ohh YES,
And DIRECTLINE.
And what a suprize , they are BOTH owned by Royal Bank ov Scotland! Who by conveinance have just borrowed 35million of the uk tax payer! Two things jumps out,, 1, they need money , and 2 they cant afford to give what they borrowed off the tax payer, back out in claims or theyd be bk to square 1 askin the goverment for are money for the 3rd time..
The moral ov the thread is if ur lookin for car insurance, read alittle more into it coz
The deals they say r just so ul join with them, make sure the insurance have got a gud trak record ov paying u whn it matters, not just payin them!
Peace out n take care people..

Any insurers might have a catch 22, and if they did I'd be amazed if anyone spotted it in the small print before signing up. It's only when someone is stung when they make a claim that all this comes out so don't reckon it's only the 2 above as it's probably most of them, more's the pity.

Plus they charge way over the odds to boost profit and no-claims is a scam etc, etc.

Can count on one hand the number of claims I've made in 50 years but I know barstewards who gave me a hard time, Direct Line and Prudential. Will never touch either again. Should've heard the Pru man squeal when I cashed all my other policies in and told him to do a runner.

Did you take out the option of a paid for courtesy car Ste? When I was with Direct Line my policy didn't cover having a courtesy car, which was their basic policy. I now make sure I get one as standard these days.

Ah now it makes sense! I left Direct Line cos of the courtesy car thing although they did fork out reasonably quickly when someone drove into me from a side street off Edge Lane, but my policy went up cos the git wasn't insured and legged it, so there wasn't much I could do.

I'm with Liverpool Victoria and in the time I've been with them I have had my car stolen and written off and 2 crashes (officially my fault) they paid out without a problem all three times. I stay with them, even though I've had cheaper quotes in the past, just for the service.

Liverpool Victoria are the most honest. Directline has to be the worst.
