Lottery cash to set up centre to help Birkenhead estate residents find work RESIDENTS of a Wirral estate are celebrating after receiving £340,000 of lottery cash.
Beechwood Community Trust was awarded the money from the Big Lottery Fund’s reaching communities programme.
It will pay for Beechwood and Ballantyne residents to access training, further education and emergency advice.
It will also help long- term unemployed people who wish to develop their skills to improve their chances of finding work.
The new project will start in March and will be funded for two years.
George Thomas, general manager of Beechwood Community Trust, said “We are very excited with this fantastic opportunity to develop an accredited training centre.” THE ECHO
