Love where you live competition
BUDDING snappers are invited to enter our photo competition which celebrates Where You Live.
We have teamed up with not-for-profit organisation Alupro, which is sponsoring the competition to highlight the massive energy and carbon savings you make when you recycle aluminium drinks cans and foil.To get involved all you have to do is to take a single shot showing why you Love Where You Live, and which also illustrates the importance of caring for the environment.
The two entries featured this week are prime examples of the first category.
DuneUK’s rich sunset shot is a stunning example of the type of shots suitable for the local landscape and wildlife.
Skewey’s crisp shot of a feeding Common Whitethroat is another great entry.
A second category is people having an impact on where we live.
These two photographers are now in with a chance of part of a prize pot of £10,000.And the best photograph from an ECHO reader will win an extra prize – the opportunity to spend a day with our picture editor and our team of press photographers and take a photo for the ECHO. The winning entries will go forward to a national exhibition to be held at the Botanical Gardens, in Birmingham, in April 2010.
