Wirral man found in Moreton died of suspected drug overdose


A MAN found lying in a field in Wirral died of a suspected drug overdose.

The body of the 46-year-old man was found by a member of the public on a patch of grassland outside the Moreton Arms pub, Moreton, at around 1pm yesterday.

Paramedics were called but were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not known what the man, named by some people locally as Jed Walker, had taken.

However, police say they are not treating his death as suspicious and they aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: “We had an incident on Wirral where a 46-year-old local man was found deceased on a patch of waste ground near the Moreton Arms pub, on Pasture Road.

“He was found by a member of the public.

“It’s yet to be confirmed, but it appears he died of a deliberate overdose.”

My cousin is called Jed Walker, but he's not over 40. phew!

Thats the one bud, you can just make it out in the photo.

I was in the same class in primary and middle school as Jed. This is a very sad thing to happen. Far to young to be leaving this life. Thoughts and prayers are sent to his loved ones.

Really sad about Jed, I Didnt know him but was my mum loz washington (boyd) 1st boyfriend. mum is very sad about it my thoughts are with his family x

Has it been confirmed that it was Jed? I`ve heard a couple of names.
