It was a good while ago but a Mate of mine used to do metal detecting, unearthed some gold coins, sent them of, recorded delivery, for valuation. The valuation business had shut up shop and moved to another location. The postie pocketed the coins and got found out but the unions stopped any action being taken. Now I know they are not all the same and there are some good fellahs, but there are also some right bar stewards amongst them too.

I just hope and pray all the ... who are striking lose their jobs and their houses etc... it serves them right. They are gaining nothing at all, absolutely nothing, but they are too dim to see it.
If they strike, they lose all the large contracts from the likes of Amazon and Play.com etc, which in turn means loss of revenue and this leads to further cutbacks, which will come in the form of job losses.
I think they should give all the foreign agency workers permenant jobs, at least they get on and deliver the mail without hassle.

I'd send there P45 in the post but it'll only take weeks for them to get it.

Are the posties actually on strike at the moment? Why is the post so sporadic?

Are the posties actually on strike at the moment? Why is the post so sporadic? If you live in the postcode area of CH44 or CH45 (like I do) then its because the Liscard sorting office are fookin useless. They have not bothered to clear the backlog since there walkout at the end of August. In fact, I was there at lunchtime to pick up a parcel that they kept becasue it was underpaid by 29p. After paying £1.29p (£1.00 handling chanrge included) I found the parcel has been there since 26th September!!

Yes, they keep having unofficial wildcat strikes for no reason - other than the fact they want to cause trouble and dont want to do a days work.

True... but Amazon and Play.com are already saying they are making alternative arrangements for Christmas deliveries.
