New ways of dealing with rape accusations and it doesn't seem to be getting thought through properly. About 45 years ago I was in a house with several other people having a coffee and it was about 1.30 a.m., suddenly the door burst open and there was a girl (it was another daughter of the house) with her clothing dishevelled, her eyes streaming with mascara as she had been crying, her hair was mussed and her stockings laddered, one shoe missing. Get the picture?
When she saw us she suddenly perked up and said "Effin 'ell it's only you lot." It turns out that when she saw the light on she thought it was her old man, supposedly a strict bloke, waiting up for her. She therefore worked herself up into a frenzy and disordered her own clothing and threw a shoe away etc and went into the house to face her dad, but she was going to claim rape as the reason for being adrift. She had been with a bloke and had just had a good seeing to. If it had been her dad waiting up then this bloke would have been tracked down and accused of rape. All the evidence was pointing that way, including the DNA (except there was no such thing then). Where would the new proposals have left that poor schmuck?

I absolutly DETEST women like that! She wants to get herself down to the nearest RASA centre+ volunteer to do a phoneline shift!!

Cheers Rudy, always wondered about that one and sometimes I shudder at some of the cases that come up in the papers. There's no excuse for those b.....ds that do rape though, string 'em up by the gonads.

Grrr. Cant find what i was looking for but basically it was a handout that i got when i did 'sexual violence awareness training'
Its a list of what judges have said summing up abuse/ rape cases with who said what.
One i remember of the top of my head. One judge let a fella off for child abuse case 'the eight year old girl was wearing a short skirt'.
I may still find out. Got about 6 box files to rummage thru.
In the meantime heres a recent statistic from RASA
25% of women have been raped at least once, 97% know their assailant. Only 30% of women report their rape to the police and out of this 30% önly 5% of cases go to court, ending in conviction.

Agree, some of them judges seem to come from the planet Zog. When they come out with that sort of crap somebody should have a look and see what they are up themselves because it always looks as though there could be a correlation to their thinking on cases and the lifestyle they probably lead. Just a thing I've noticed a lot. They must feel sympathy with someone who is doing the same as them.

Sentences should be handed out to fit the crime and rightly so, but what i don't agree with is releasing names before the trail and the guilty verdict. A woman can keep her anonymity and falsely accuse someone and what comes in to play is the old no smoke without fire issue and it must be awful trying to shake that accusation off.

There must be thousands like him who have been wrongly accused that don't hit the national headlines, the stigma in their own little communities must be terrible. I wonder how many have committed suicide because of it. There's certainly been a lot of lives ruined.
