Right i really am getting pissed off now with my car its a s13.

I need to get it mot'd and have been trying to bleed the system with no success a mate helped who is a verygood grease monkey but like me hasnt done this before.

We removed the hydro from its mount and then tried every position known to man to try and aid the bleeding prosesses with no joy.It was as if the hydro needed more fluid than the master cylinder could supply...even if you pumped the pedal several times to prime the hydro...

Have also tried with the engine running

We havnt got any power or a pressure bleeder as the cheap arse one i bought hasnt got the right size cap.

The master cylinder worked fine before i removed the old brake lines and the car has no abs.

The rear of the car has skyline calipers and 300zx disks and i am running the :dw: hydro handbrake and lines havnt fixed the lines down yet and cant find a leak anywere.

Pics of the fitting is anything wrong in them????

I am at my witts and am at a point now were i am thinking of breaking it rather then fixing it.

Some answers i have gotten so far of sites.

u should take rear wheel of.... pump the foot brake (need 2 ppl) hold the foot brake on and while its on crack the nipple and push the foot brake down but do not go all the way as u will stuff the seals in the cylinder as the piston ussualy never travels all the way. while the foot goes down... tighten the nipple up... pump the brake and repeat to u get a constant stream of fluid... and after u do have a constant stream do it like 3 times after that to make sure. then do the other side of the car. but while bleeding make sure ur master cylinder does not run out of fluid as u will just put a big bit of air in the system again so keep checking it

brake pedel down, open nipple - squirt. Pull hydro - more squirt. Hold pedel down and hydro back and close nipple. Repeat til bled. That's the way to do it.

The reason the fittings are on the top is so air can rise to the top.. when its like that the air will not leave the cylinder..

So its fairly straitforward why its not bleeding in my mind.

Thats why calipers have the bleed nipple on the top of the caliper.. if it was on the bottom it would never bleed out.

BUT Chris's answer to this (which is right)

it's not the position of the hydro...I bled it with spin king and we tried with the hydro in various positions, including horizontal...all with no improvement??

Also are you allowing the cylinder to fully return to fully open position, as it locks off the front line as soon as you start to pull it back, i can't tell from the picture how far its wound in but worth also checking.

Could be one of the problems.

Really need this sorting before i bin the whole car

anybody up for trying some of these sat/sunday???

Are the handbrake cylinders new? Any particle of dirt in the system gets in not going to hold no matter how many times you bleed it!

I had the same problem with my Starion, with the clutch cylinder. Had backed up the fluid with the nipple open. I spent two hours trying ever way to bleed it, before accepting defeat, so I washed the cylinder out with carb cleaner and hot soapy water!

Look at 10 years of grime! Pedal went straight to the floor!

CLEAN!

It was 100% after this. It might not be, but it could be. Hope it gets sorted.
