Sammy Lee charged with improper conduct

Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee has been charged by the Football Association with improper conduct after a clash with fourth official Stuart Attwell during the defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

The Reds' number two was sent from the dug-out by referee Phil Dowd after his clash with the fourth official during the closing stages of the match.

Manager Rafa Benitez, who may also be charged for his post-match comments about the officials, questioned whether Attwell was old enough to be a fourth official.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson and Norwich manager Paul Lambert have also been charged with improper conduct.

Ferguson's charge relates to the use of abusive language. Lambert's follows his dismissal from the dugout when manager of Colchester in their match against Yeovil Town on August 16.
