At least it didn't have a stupid clown on it...

What year was it changed to the one way system?

Liscard's gone downhill... I blame the Pay and Display

It used to have a large Christmas tree on it,santa's sleigh + reindeer etc. It really used to make Liscard Christmassy far better than the current set-up that we have, unfortunately if we had it now it would only be wrecked by the mindless smack/p***heads that frequent Liscard and most of Merseyside today.

Here are some photos of the Christmas decorations on the roundabout in Liscard. Not the best quality, and only in B&W, but then they were taken in december 1969...

ooooooooooo a ghost has walked over my grave , the times i went to the saturday morning abc cinema childrens shows and one would pay to go in and open the fire doors for 50 more kids

a "b" film, a main film ,a trailer, pathe news and always a silent movie , usherettes with a torch and a tray round their necks and halfway through every showing the projectionist changing the reels over, even then the adverts were for gordons gin and orange ice lollies

Here's a few more to send shivers up your spine: chucking-out time at the ABC in 1964.

Also there's a couple more better shots of the roundabout, but without the deccies this time...
