Been looking at the roof of this place from my window for years and never knew what is was or its real size as its hidden in the trees. There's some pics of its rooms in a book called Merchant Palaces by Joseph Sharples. Link to pic- Mere Hall
It was designed by Edmund Kirby in 1880 for the Solicitor John Gray Hill and was used for accomodation during the war for pakistani and indian seafarers from the Liverpool Shipping Companies. Its now apartments.
Would like to hear any more information about the building if anyone knows it?
