Wirral road traffic survey underway A TRAFFIC survey is currently being carried out on roads across Wirral to monitor speed limits.
The Moreton to Birkenhead flyover is one of 170 locations that have been fitted with counting loops as part of an operation by Wirral council and police.
The device measures the volume of traffic using the particular road, types of vehicles and the speed at which they are travelling.
Wirral's director of technical Services, Dave Green said: "The cables on the Moreton / Birkenhead flyover are automatic counting loops, which provide information on the types of vehicles using the road and the speeds at which they are travelling.
"The information will be used as part of a borough-wide review of speed limits, which is being undertaken in partnership with Merseyside Police."
