Deal on to save Chester City

CHESTER CITY are hoping to be accepted as members of the Blue Square League Premier Division at tomorrow's Conference AGM.
Creditors and shareholders of the club accepted a proposal from administrators Refresh Recovery Limited yesterday and Chester City is now under new ownership under the control of former club chairman, Stephen Vaughan.

Vaughan said: "It has been well documented that I was the only bidder before the creditors and shareholders meeting was held but it was good to see that the Chester City Supporters Trust gave us their full backing of the takeover and hopefully we can put our differences behind us now and move forward.

"The most important thing here is football in the city of Chester.
"We've now got to put the CVA proposal in place and have it accepted by the Conference League at their AGM tomorrow
