HAD A WALK TO ROCK PARK LAST WEEK WENT TO LOOK FOR TRACES OF HAWTHORNE HOUSE AND ITS GARDENS.SAW A BIT OFF THE WALL WHAT BELONGED TO THE GARDENS I THINK BUT COULDNT FIND THE PILLARS FOR THE HOUSE SAW OTHER ONES THOUGH.TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT I WALKED ALONG ROCK PARK AND THEY HAVE BOARDED AND SEALED UP THIS MAGINFICENT BUILDING AND OUTSIDE ON THE PILLAR IT SAID ABOUT SISTERS WHITCH I RECKON WAS USED AS SOME SORT OF CONVENT.HAS ANYBDY GOT PITCHURES AND KNOWLEGE OF THIS BUILDING.ALONG A BIT THERE IS ANOTHER DETACHED HOUSE AND I GUESS ITS GRADE LISTED .iT WAS SAD TO SEE SOME WINDOWS HAD BEEN SMASHED ITS UP FOR Sale.I ALSO SAW ROCK HOUSE STILL KEPT UP TO STANDARDS AND POSSIBLY ONE BIG FAMILY HOME .

Hi you are right about the convent, I remember it from when I was a kid (it was still open then)Can't remember the name but I will find out for you. Rock House used to terrify me when I was a kid. We used to think it was haunted  I put a request out for info on it but nobody got back to me  Regards Chris

thanks for trying for me it is probally grade listed also its difficult to seel if you live in rock park now because of the bypass big mistake. thanks helen

I'm not sure on this but I think it may have been St Margarets. If I'm right,it was run by the Sisters of Charity. The house was opened in 1890 and closed in 2004.
