Woman sexually assaulted in Liverpool's Calderstones park

A 58-YEAR-OLD woman was the victim of a sex attack as she walked her dogs in a Liverpool park.

The victim was assaulted in Calderstones Park, Allerton on Saturday morning.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area following the attack.

The woman was walking with her pets at around 8.20am when she was approached by a man who was wearing a blue bomber jacket and a reddish brown checked shirt.

The attacker pinned the woman to the ground, punched her and then sexually assaulted her before running off in the direction of Allerton Road.

He is described as white, in his early 30s, 5ft 6, slim build with short brown hair.

Det Insp Peter Cain said: “This was a disturbing incident which has left the victim very upset. I would like to reassure the local community we are doing everything we can to find this man and patrols have been stepped up in the area.”
