Doorstep murderer escapes prison
A convicted murderer is on the run after escaping from prison.
Lyndon Coles, 45, was serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years for the murder of Shane George in Hull in 1994.
Mr George, 21, was shot dead with a shotgun as he opened the door of his home in Coltman Street.
Coles escaped from Kirklevington Prison near Yarm, Cleveland, on Saturday. Humberside Police have urged the public not to challenge him.
A police spokesman said: "Lyndon Coles is urged to hand himself to the nearest police station.
"Police do not believe he poses any threat to the general public, but he should not be challenged.
"If anyone sees Lyndon Coles or has information about his whereabouts they should call Humberside Police immediately."
