Birkenhead residents throw out the old to get ready for the new
Twelve skips were filled by Birkenhead residents during a one day clean up organised by Maritime Housing Association, part of The Regenda Group and the Live Wirral wardens.
Residents of Craven and Patterson Streets took part in the initiative and grasped the opportunity to get rid of any unwanted household items prior to the HMRI Regeneration work that is about to start in their neighbourhood.
The Regenda Group funded the skips and Maritime and Wirral Warden staff were out and about on the day helping and encouraging residents to have a good clear out.
The Group have previously found that fly tipping becomes a big problem during regeneration work and wanted to help prevent this. Residents of the neighbouring Exmouth Way and Close also joined in.
Angela Don, Regenda’s Project Manager explained; “We are working very closely with our residents in this area so they are disturbed as little as possible during the imminent regeneration work. Our residents have been really enthusiastic about the clean up; wanting to keep their neighbourhood clean and tidy. It’s been a great success.” News Link
