YOU’LL be A-Maz’d – but not if you have ever driven one.

The Mazda2 has left the competition in the pit lane – by being crowned the WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR 2008.

The Mazda2’s fantastic performance put it on the victory lap at the expense of 38 rival motors – and was also lapped up by the judging panel of 47 acclaimed international motor journos.
This outstanding all-rounder beat off stiff competition from the short-listed Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class.

It’s great on the eye, provides terrific performance and delivers economic excellence, meaning – while it might burn of the competition - it won’t burn big hole in your bank balance.

And, with the grass looking ever greener for the car industry, topping the environmental scorecard means it’s an eco-warrior as well.

Previous winners of this coveted award include the Lexus LS460, BMW 3-Series and Audi A6.

The stylish Mazda2 was also one of the three finalists for 2008 World Design of the Year, alongside Volvo C30 and Audi R8.

...looks like every other new small hatch back think

Is this a new car, or like the 121 - a joint ventre with Ford, and based on the new Fiesta?

Aparantly, it is a 3rd variation of the new Valencia Ford Fiesta, but whereas the 121, was just a badge change, the Mazda 2 has been "completely re-engineereed".

Me no like no
