Davidson returns as Honda tester

Davidson has a long history as a Honda test driver
Anthony Davidson has returned to action on a Formula One track for the first time since his Super Aguri team folded.

The Englishman, who lost his drive when Aguri collapsed with financial problems in May, is testing for Honda at Spain's Circuit de Catalunya this week.

Honda said Davidson was a natural choice to step in for regular test driver Alexander Wurz, who is racing for Peugeot at Le Mans this weekend.

Davidson was test driver for Honda and its BAR team for six years until 2006.

His impressive performances earned him the drive when the Honda-backed Super Aguri team was set up to secure a race seat for Japan's Takuma Sato in 2006.

Davidson, 28, also took part in a straight-line test for Honda in Spain over the Monaco Grand Prix weekend last month.

He was due to test all day at the home of the Spanish Grand Prix before handing over to Brazilian race driver Rubens Barrichello.

All the F1 teams apart from Force India are in Spain for the test.

Its a shame for him, he had some amazing drives with Super Aguri. He really deserves to get back behind the wheel in a team again. Ok Hes not the best, but least hes better than Button !!
