Good stuff, on a slight tangent, Bidston Road near the lights by the water tower there are two large victiorian buildings opposite the resevoir, if you look closely there are two thick green stripes painted across both houses on the roof (slightly faded now) used for either camoflage or were painted on the buildings as they were used by commander (or other high up rank as a base of some operations.) I have read this on the net somewhere. The building near the water tower was used for drills during ww2. Worth a look if passing by.
