Yes should download and have a go - ye will be blown away by the speed! I know I am, and the AA and page rendering is awsome, far superior to that of IE and Firefox/Opera. Its good to use as a tool for developing websites, finally one can test sites on Safari without a mac. Dont be scared, give it a go even in BETA, it aint got no virus's etc.

I'm gunna give this a try as both firefox and IE are useless for keeping up with multiple tabs and windows. I'll let you know what I think

Its a touch heavy on memory (60MB per window - the coding still needs optimizing), but its not at all noticeable when using the browser - its still way faster then FF and IE. And best of all it doesnt impact at all on the performance on the PC, so whilst its heavy on memory, its not actually leaking memory like both IE and FF are guilty of doing. Some people have had issues running it on Vista, but Apple have said its coded for XP with Vista taking second priority atm as XP is more commonplace. Having said that, some people have had issues running it on XP (as in it sometimes doesnt show the menus correctly) but im running it totally fine. Im not 100% convinced by the interface, its a bit too minimalist imho, especially as I am used to that of IE, but one cannot get way from the sheer phenominal speed of the page loading and quality of the page rendering, FF and IE don't even come close to it. The AA text is really neat too, sometimes it looks a little too bold, but 99% of the time its fine. Overall, I am impressed, and can see why mac users have raved about it for years. And at the end of the day, even if I decide not to take it up full time (still 50/50 about leaving IE) its a great tool for web developing. It will only get better as the BETA is improved and more plugins are released by both Apple and 3rd party developers.

It's log. I'm uninstalling it. It's not a memory that I have problems with, its processing. It can't cope with the first 2 links I opened (both had video embedded - one youtube, another wmp) which firefox can handle easily, and IE can just about struggle with. It uses an old wmp version for playing embedded videos too and takes up 50% of my processor thinking about whats going on. Doesn't display itself properly nevermind the pages within. Also, as you say, the truetype fonts used are too bold and a bit of an eyestrain Back to firefox I go

Sounds like it dont like your system - unlucky fella, working like a dream here. There been a few people who have problems on XP, but for the most part its been pretty stable. The bold fonts can be lowered in the options, the standard setting is the best one for general LCD's, but of course different monitors and people's likes will require changing it sometimes. I have tried the other settings and found the standard one suits me best. I find it really nice to type with and view text with, its so clean.

Its sweet as fook to customize ye just gotta have a braincell or two to work out how (I must have been lacking them for the last few days lol).

Well, I just installed it on my media centre and I have to say it looks absolutely perfect running through my LCD television. Its deffo optimized for LCD, and even more so for larger screens, the fonts dont look at all dodgy or bold like they can do on smaller LCD screens. Its stunning!
