Twin Weber D.C.O.E. Carburetters
Kent Camshaft
OKay, What do these do then ?????
- Twin Weber 40's D.C.O.E. Carburetors
Most engines work on a single venturie carburetor design, this means the fuel and air is brought into the engine via this single carburetor, Twin Weber 40's are similar to a single carburetor but there are 4 venturies Its just like fitting 4 carburetors onto your engine therefore allowing maximum fuel to enter the engine giving you maximum performance gains.
Your camshaft allows the valves to open and close at the correct time to allow the fuel and air into your engine and then the exhaust gases out of your engine, Basically a kent camshaft does this but allows the valves to stay open a bit longer to allow more fuel and air in and then to allow the exhaust gases exit the engine better also. It also gives you a great power increase when used with bigger carburetors and a four branch exhaust manifold.
Hope this helps matey ?????

You are best of seeing if you could pickup second hand Webber's (Approx £150), Camshaft would cost approx £150 or so also.

In my opinion, carbs are not worth the amount of money you'll pay (for new ones), plus they use a *lot* of juice. And they need balancing etc., not for the light hearted.
Beats the 'air filter and back box' route though!

Think I mentioned this at the last meet, but one of my Friends has an Escort that he needs rid of!
Its a Mk4 1.6 Sport - 1600 CVH. Its Taxed and MOT'd (Though he would want the tax off it) but the shell is pretty knackered and was planning on scrapping it. I think the motor and box are good though, and the brakes should also be a straight swap.
I recon he'll take scrap value (£40-£50) for the car if you come and get rid for him. Its got XR3i alloys on it also.

It should have pretty much everything you need If it has a Mechanical pump, that will be on the engine, and if its electrical it'll have one in the tank (Though you would need a fuel tank to suit your Fezzy) Gonna call him for a few more details now Car is located in Upton so if you and someone wanted to come and see it, its nice and local.
